近期，關于Longhorn，X64系統的新聞不斷涌現。在上周，Windows Server 2003 SP1發布了，而Windows Server 2003的下一個更新版也即將開始公測。

　　到今年末，Windows Server用戶將有望看到Windows Server 2003的下一個重要更新版本（代號"R2"）。"R2"版在SP1的基礎上，還增添了獨有功能，它們都支持選擇性安裝。

　　Windows Server 2003 "R2"發布初期，受Software Assurance（軟件保證）或Enterprise Agreements（企業協議）保護的服務器用戶將有資格免費獲得"R2"。當"R2"普及后，大眾用戶可通過定購獲得"R2"。另外，用戶還可以購買服務器版權來獲得"R2"版的功能。此外，Windows Server 2003 "R2"要求用戶擁有與Windows Server 2003原版相同的客戶訪問權（CAL）。

　　Windows Server 2003 "R2" Beta 2是"R2"的最新候選版，大家可以按照以下步驟獲得之：
　　1. 登陸http://beta.microsoft.com
　　2. 輸入合法.Net Passport
　　3. 點擊GuestID
　　4. 輸入'R2B2Beta' (大小寫敏感)
　　5. 完成左側面板的統計
　　成功參與的用戶將在2周后收到另外的郵件通知。
