Kibana map

Background

From July 11, 2016 Kibana was not allowed to use MapQuest anymore. But Kibana distributes their own map service named elastic tile map service. Unfortunately it limits the zoom level to only 8, disappointing a lot of kibana users. This post PRovides a solution for users to use a better map with higher zoom level.

What does the original elastic tile map service look like? The zoom level of 8 could not make some users happy.

Solution

Current I have got two ways to make this done. The first is to use the openstreetmap, and the other way is to use Gaode Map (高德地圖) . Kibana 使用高德地圖，OpenStreetMap，提升地圖放大級(jí)別，體驗(yàn)更精細(xì)的地圖。

openStreetMap

Step 1, add the two lines to your kibana.yml

Step 2, restarts your kibana Now it provides a max zoom level of 18. Very cool!

Gaode Map 高德地圖

Step 1, add the following two lines to your kibana.yml

Step 2, restarts your kibana Now it looks like this.

It also looks good. Since Gaode is the product from a Chinese company, it provides a better experience for Chinese users.
